Aline Rhame passed away at Palmetto Health Richland two days after she was involved in the collision on Oswego Highway at Charlotte Avenue, according to Bryan Rogers, Sumter County’s chief deputy coroner, in a news release. The Sumter Police Department is investigating the accident, for which no additional details on the circumstances or others involved were immediately available. Rogers said an autopsy will be performed on Tuesday, Nov. 14 in Newberry and that Rhame’s family has been notified. ALINE R. RHAME Posted Tuesday, November 14, 2017 6:00 am Aline Rucker Rhame, 87, widow of Warren David Rhame, died on Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, at Palmetto Health Richland. Born on April 4, 1930, in Calhoun County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Flaxie Rast Rucker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sumter. Mrs. Rhame was formerly employed by Pioneer Dress Ltd. and worked for Weight Watchers for more than 40 years. Survivors include two sons, Michael David Rhame (Terry) of Sumter and Warren Lloyd Rhame (Carol) of Dalzell; two grandchildren, Ashley Rhame and Zachary Rhame (Tanya); two great-grandchildren, Haley Rhame and Caroline Rhame; two brothers, Charlie Rucker and Douglas Rucker; and five sisters, Viola Kirven, Peggy Garvin, Ollie Mae Snyder, Roberta Doyle and Lucille Harmon. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dan Barber officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery. Pallbearers will be Zachary Rhame, Jimmy Davis, Butch Carraway, Hank Harmon, Earl Snyder and Tommy Rhame. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Rhame, 3181 Daufaskie Road, Sumter.
