  HIST	Gladys G. Pridgen PINEWOOD — Gladys Griffin Pridgen, 77, wife of Alvis Thomas “Al” Pridgen, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Palmetto Health Baptist hospital in Columbia. Born in Pinewood, she was a daughter of the late Walter Graham Griffin and Gladys Geddings Griffin. Mrs. Pridgen was a member of Pinewood United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the church circle. She was also a retired middle school teacher. Surviving are her husband of Pinewood; two sons, Walter G. Elliott (Denise) of Lucama, N.C., and Kenneth M. Elliott (Jane) of Wilson, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Pamela Fargoso (Leno) of Stafford, Va., and Kathy Schnell (Tim) of Wilson; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pinewood United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mickey Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Pinewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pinewood United Methodist Church, 113 E.
