  MILI	During the American Revolution, he acted as a surgeon with Francis Marion’s brigade. He was a participant in one dramatic event at Long Bluff. The notorious Tory leader, Fanning, had occupied Long Bluff where Isaac Cussack was tried and found guilty of firing at a Tory. He (Cussack) was condemned to be hanged. Dr. Wilson endeavored, unsuccessfully, to prevent the execution by coming between Fanning, who was on horseback, and Cussack. Fanning knocked him down and proceeded with the hanging.  [1]
