| HIST | of Columbia, South Carolina HENRY THOMAS EDENS Posted Friday, January 29, 2021 6:00 am IRMO - Henry Thomas Edens, 78, widower of Anita Harvin Edens, died on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021, at Generations of Irmo. Born in Dalzell, he was a son of the late LeRoy Sr. and Claudia Nichols Edens. Mr. Edens was a member of Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, retired from the S.C. Army National Guard with 28 years of service and was later employed part-time with the Richland County Sheriff's Department. Surviving are a sister, Sarah Gawelek of Florence. He was preceded in death by a brother, LeRoy Edens Jr. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Dennis Banks officiating. All attendees are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing. Memorials may be made to Shandon Baptist Church, 5250 Forest Drive, Columbia, SC 29206 or to a charity of one's choice.
