James Edward Brogdon BENNETTSVILLE - Services for Mr. James Edward Brogdon, 90, will be held at 11 am Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 130 Broad St., Bennettsville, SC 29512, the Presbyterian Communities of SC, 2817 Ashland Road, Columbia, SC 29210, or the Marlboro Rescue Squad, PO Box 123, Bennettsville, SC, 29512. Whitner-Evans Funeral Home is in charge. Mr. Brogdon died Monday. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Edward McKay and Jane Miller Brogdon. He was the owner of Lundin-Brogdon Accounting, and was an Accountant for 61 years. He attended Presbyterian College and was a graduate of the University of SC. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he served as Deacon, Elder and Treasurer. He was a former member of the Bennettsville Rotary Club, and in February 2013, was honored as the "Man of the Year". He was married to the late Nancy Johnson Brogdon. Surviving are: a son, James E. "Jim" Brogdon, Jr., (Pam) of Pinopolis, a daughter, Joan B. Potter, (Randy), of Greer, grandchildren, Elizabeth Hinkle, (Richard), Edward Potter, (Ashlee), Mary Catherine Mitchell, (Scott), Meredith Brogdon, Ashleigh Rury, (Jeremy) and James Brogdon, (Elizabeth) and 9 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jean Brogdon.
