  Article on death from The Post and Courier (7 Oct 2002)- SUNDAY AFTERNOON WRECK KILLS BEAUFORT WOMAN- ¶ A 67-year-old woman died Sunday when her car crossed into another lane, striking a Chevrolet pickup. ¶ The Charleston County Deputy Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal identified the woman as Phyllis Bray, 67, of Beaufort. ¶ At about 1:45 p.m. Bray was heading north on U. S. 17, just south of Parker’s Ferry Road, when she lost control of her car. ¶ Her car crossed into a southbound lane, hitting a truck driven by Hugh L. Black, 50, of Meggett, said Charleston County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Captain Dana Valentine. ¶ He was taken to Bon Secours-St. Francis Xavier Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, she said.
