| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina IMA LEE OSBORNE JONES Posted Tuesday, November 21, 2023 6:00 am Ima Lee Osborne Jones, 93, widow of Eugene Norwood Jones, departed this life on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023. Born on Nov. 17, 1930, in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Warren Osborne and Margaret Newton Osborne. She was a member of Concord Presbyterian Church and retired from the NBSC Operations Center. She is survived by three sons, Ronald Lester Jones (Kate), Gary Allen Jones (Becky) and Glen Mitchell Jones (Sandra); a daughter-in-law, Deborah Emerson Jones; a sister, Betty Lawter; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Faye Singleton. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie B. "C.B." Osborne and Theadus "Bully" Osborne; a sister, Louise O. Prescott; a son, Warren Eugene Jones; and a grandson, U.S. Army Sgt. Anthony Glen Jones. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the Concord Presbyterian Church cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Watson officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be William "Bill" Osborne Sr., William Osborne Jr., Raymond Osborne, Dean Jones, Robert "Bobby" Jones and Mike Deas. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside and other times at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Kate Jones. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements. [3, 4, 9, 12] | |
