DRIGGERS Juanita "Nita" Jones Coker Driggers, 86, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at her home. Born in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late Walter Jones and Marie Barrineau Jones Driggers. Mrs. Driggers was first married to the late Lorie W. Coker and later to the late Thaddeus Driggers. Surviving are three sons, Roy Coker (Sue) of Moncks Corner, Keith Coker (Linda) and Gene Coker of Sumter; four daughters, Wilma Parker (Edward), Betty Batey (Jerry), Judy Hill (Bob) and Fay Hall (Robert), all of Sumter; three stepdaughters, Ollie Jashinsky (John) and Pat Wegrzynowski (John), both of West Columbia, and Brenda Barrineau (William) of Olanta; a stepson, Tommy Driggers (Sandra) of Florence; seven sisters, Elsie Crawford (John) and Lola Crawford (Marion) of Coward, Katie Dawkins (Richard) of Goose Creek, Willa Ward (Howard) of Florence, Amanelle Brush of Murrells Inlet, Clarice Cotten (Herbert) of Durham, N.C., and Hazel "Bug" Meeks of Scranton; three brothers, Willie Joe Jones (B.J.) of Scranton, Billy Driggers (Sue) and Harry Driggers (Lucille) of Effingham; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Jones of Charleston; a brother-in-law, the Rev. Mayford Williams of Charleston; 29 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Runette Johnson and Esther Brunson; two sons, Larry Coker and Jerry Coker; six sisters, Mary Lee Revis, Elise Morgan, Inez Revis, Sudie Rogers, Polly Williams and Kathleen Yarborough; and two brothers, Leo Jones and the Rev. Charlie Robert Jones. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Eugene Mosier officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home.
