MISS ASKINS
Mr. and Mrs. Johnny David Askins of Florence announce the engagement of their daughter, Amelia Beth Askins of Florence, to John Ivey Brown Jr. of Florence, son of John Ivey Brown and the late Camilla Wright Brown of Sumter.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mrs. Olene Thomas Martin and the late William Leroy Martin, and Mrs. Virginia Broach Askins and the late Willie Cleo "Bobby" Askins Sr. of Florence. She graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is employed by McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence.
The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Simeon Pinckney Wright Sr. of Sumter, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Girard Brown Sr. He graduated from Francis Marion University with a bachelor of business administration degree in finance. He is employed by the Bank of Clarendon.
