BETTY B. LEE
Betty Burgess Lee, 83, widow of John Dozier Lee Jr., died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005 at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Robert A. Burgess Sr. and Eunice McFaddin Burgess.
Mrs. Lee was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter, the Sumter Assembly, the Sumter Cotillion and the Roadrunners Traveling Club. She was a former member of the Sumter Junior Welfare League.
Surviving are a son, John Dozier Lee III of Sumter; two daughters, Mary Dozier Ellsworth and husband, John, of Lexington and Betsy Lee Satory and husband, Jim, of Alpharetta, Ga.; three grandchildren, Ryan M. Ellsworth, Lindsay R. Ellsworth and Richard D. Lee.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert A. Burgess Jr. and Joseph A. Burgess.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. John Barr officiating.
Pallbearers will be Ryan M. Ellsworth, Richard D. Lee, Dr. Charles H. White Jr., Gene K. Weston, Jack Erter and Charles Alessandro.
The family will receive friends at the home, 224 Mason Croft Drive.
