My cousin ben Zeigler and I are desperately seeking Benjamin Franklin Turners Father. Some sources say he was benjamin F turner born in Wilminton- wife mary. Some say francis born is NC and SC and Ben's sister's death cert. says Frank and mary born and died in SC. I can find a francis and mary with 8 mos old benjamin in the 1879 census mcmillan but in 1880 I can't find Francis and can only find a mary and child benjamin back home with parents Benjamin and mgt. Can find H.A. Turner who lived in NC and SC with a son Benjamin F. born in 1851, but can't follow him after he leaves home. Ben and I are desperate for any info you can give. I have a lot of Lide info and some Turner- though probably not any you don't have. Your info is amazing. She married William Melvin Allen. Her tombstone is in lebanon cemetery florence SC. In Benjamin's obit- Mrs. W.MAQ allen is listed as his sister, and some of her sons were pallbearers all said to be nephews. Mattie's death cert says her parents were Frank and Mary t of SC, so I am no closer to finding who Benjamin Franklin Turners 1851-1948 parents were. so far I have heard Francis J and Mary from Wilmington N C- a recollection- unproved- by my uncle Nick Zeigler who notes are in the Darlington SC historical museum files, Benjamin from Wilmington, NC and Mary- on Benjamins death cert. and the lynches river geneological peolple said they might be Francis from SC and Mary from Wales- but could not send me proof.
