BESSIE MCLEOD
Bessie Mae Avin McLeod, 77, wife of Cody McLeod, died Thursday, July 30, 2009, at her home.
Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Eddie Avin and the late Alma Johnson Avin. Mrs. McLeod was a member of Pinewood Baptist Church. She was past State Officer and member of the S.C. Extension Homemakers Council, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 117, and a past membership representative of the Handicapped Travel Club. She was a devoted wife and mother.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Clinton Cody "Chip" McLeod (Terry) and Glenn McLeod (Carolyn); a daughter, Beth McLeod Cochran (Ted); four grandchildren, Clint McLeod (Gail), Wesley McLeod, Anna Chambers, and Cindy Sumner; and one great-grandchild, Cody McLeod.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Bennie Barwick and the Rev. Dale Turner officiating. Burial will be in the Pinewood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
