COONCE MANNING - Annie Maria Lowder Coonce, 86, widow of Chester "Chet" Matthew Coonce, died Thursday, July 15, 2010, at her home in the Home Branch community of Clarendon County. Born in Alcolu, she was a daughter of the late James Friendly and Frances Joanna Timmons Lowder. Mrs. Coonce was a member of Home Branch Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Joseph Chester Coonce Sr. and wife, Judi; three daughters, Emily Anne Coonce Nicholes and husband, Ray, Frances Predonia Coonce Grate and Virginia "Jenny" Louise Coonce; a sister, Frances Lowder Mathis, all of Sumter and Manning; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Home Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Haynes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the church prior to the service and other times at the home, 1096 Hodge Circle, Manning.
