MYRTIS M. HODGE
MANNING -- Myrtis Margaret Hodge, 80, widow of Dewey G. Hodge, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007, at her daughter's home in Manning.
Born Sept. 20, 1926, in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Junious Elliott Hodge and the late Ruby Carroll Hodge. She was a member of Cross Roads Bible Fellowship Church and was retired from Campbell's Soup in Sumter.
She is survived by two daughters, Loretta Geddings of Sumter and Gloria Raymond and her husband, Jerry, of Manning; two sons, J.W. Hodge and his wife, Gladys, and Gilbert Hodge, both of Manning.; a sister, Thelma Davis of Manning; a brother, Cecil Hodge and his wife, Mary Rose, of Manning; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning with the Revs. John Hall and Keith Burgess officiating. Burial will follow in Cross Roads Bible Fellowship Church Cemetery.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Drs. Mitchell Grunsky and James B. Cahill.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Stephens Funeral Home in Manning and at other times at the residence of Gloria and Jerry Raymond, 233 N. Church St., Manning.
