| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina PAMELA MCELVEEN PRICE Posted Monday, April 21, 2025 3:07 pm Pamela “Nana” McElveen Price, 63, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025, at her home. Born April 13, 1962, in Sumter, she was a daughter of Emery McElveen and Nancy Hill McElveen. Pam “Nana” was a daughter, a sister, a mother, a grandmother, a friend and most importantly a believer in Christ. She was a member of St. Marks Methodist Church. She raised her children in North Augusta, S.C., where she was very active in her community and volunteered in numerous capacities. When she returned to Sumter, she continued her volunteer work at Tuomey Hospital and St. Marks Methodist Church. She was formerly employed by Morningside of Sumter Assisted Living, Tri County Hospice, Winyah Hospice, High Hills Elementary School, McLaughlin Ford and retired from J & J Monument Company after 12 years of service. She was a firefighter enthusiast and someone who could tell a story about anything at any time. She loved sunsets, the beach, traveling to see her friends and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Pam “Nana” was the most caring person you could ever meet. The only word to describe her would be strong. She never failed to put a smile on someone’s face even when she was in pain. She will be tremendously missed by all those who knew her. We all know that she is no longer in pain and is now celebrating with our Savior! Survivors include her parents; three children, Bridgett Zeigler, Stephanie Brown (Tommy) and Brent Price (Alyssa); grandchildren, Delaney, Haylee, Cooper, McKenzie, Avary, Levi and Magnolia; a sister, Paula Allen (Tim); and a brother, Ray McElveen (Aimee). Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel officiated by the Rev. Wes Conner. Burial will be in Sumter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of her parents. Memorials may be made to St. Marks Methodist Church, Wounded Warriors, Scottish Rite or Gideons International.
