retired lieutenant colonel He was drafted into the Army in 1943, then transferred to the Army Air Corps. He served his country during World War II and the Korean conflict and then retired after 28 years of service. Chuck flew everything from training aircraft, T-33 and T-37 to B-17, B-29 and B-47 bombers. On a tour in Germany, he was assigned to duty with the Army in Algiers, North Africa, where he met his future wife, Marilyn, who was living with her parents, Colonel and Mrs. Earl Wadsworth.
