  He moved to Tennessee in 1850. After the first wife died he married Elizabeth Beasley on 5 Nov 1847 after the birth of Helen M. The data on Sam, his wives and the kids comes from Mrs. Dorothy M. Wade, in Savannah, Georgia. Carolyn M. is her line. He died while visitng his two sons, James McKendree and Sam D. Jenkins, Junior. in Quitman. Heard the real reason was that he killed a negro in Tennessee.
