Born in Georgetown County, she was a daughter of the late David Earl Smithwick and the late Ruby Ann Galloway Smithwick. Survivors include two daughters, Melissa Walker of Sumter and Roxanne Bruce of Florida; two grandsons, Tony Calvin Barfield and Joseph Clay Walker; two brothers, William Smithwick and Keith Smithwick, both of Sumter; three sisters, Denise Lewis, Sherry Shelley, and Donna Smithwick, all of Sumter; and her former husband, D.C. Bruce. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Green Acres Assembly of God with the Rev. Donnie Collins and the Rev. Billy Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to the family, c/o Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home, 515 Miller Road, Sumter, SC 29150.
