Randy Wayne Rodgers, 62, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at Providence Hospital in Columbia. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Harry Lee Sr. and Flossie Mae McGee Rodgers. Mr. Rodgers was a retired U.S. Air Force veteran of Vietnam. He was an avid University of South Carolina fan, fisherman and NASCAR fan. Surviving are one daughter, Michelle Rodgers Vickers of Sumter; four brothers, Artie Rodgers and wife, Sukhi, of Washington, Ernie Rodgers and wife, Annie, of Henderson, Nev., Terry Rodgers and wife, Cris, of Manning and Mark Rodgers and wife, Terri, of Sumter; two sisters, Harriett Ainsworth of North Augusta and Carol Jennings and husband, Larry, of Sumter; and two grandchildren, D.J. Vickers and Morgan Vickers. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Lee Rodgers Jr. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Gene Mosier officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of his sister, 1080 Peppercorn Lane.
