PLEMONS Harlin Ray Plemons, 80, husband of Frances Charles Plemons, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in McMinn, Tenn., he was the eldest of three children born to the late Dillard Plemons and the late Nola Mae Plemons. He worked at Sunbeam and Rainair. He loved to fish, raise animals, and he also loved to invent many things to help him with both. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife of 60 years; two daughters, Mildred Plemons Hughes (Harold) of Sumter and Theresa Mae Ellis (Rick) of Iowa; three sons, Kyle Ray Plemons of Sumter, Robert Dillard Plemons Sr. (Iva) of Bishopville, and Richard Eugene Plemons (Tammy) of Sumter; a sister, Martha Burke (Tom) of Athens, Tenn.; a brother Lewis Plemons of Riceville, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren, Donna Baker (Larry), Grant Hughes (Samantha), Jamie Plemons (Dawn), Tonya Porter (Rob), Dillard Plemons, Jr. (Vickie) Kyle Plemons, Ariel Plemons, Kenneth Sornson (Pauline), Reanne Ellis, and Emilee Ellis; one step-grandson, Stephen Sanderson (Lisa); 14 great-grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Diane Plemons. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Harold Green officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the Providence Baptist Church Building Fund, 2445 Old Manning Road, Sumter, SC 29150.
