GOODMAN WEDGEFIELD -- Davis Reginald (Reggie) Goodman Sr., 80, husband of Jho Ann Holladay Goodman, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at his home. Born in Mayesville, he was the son of the late Loranzo Dow Goodman and Mattie Marie Powell Goodman. He was a member of Wedgefield Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon and elder. Reggie was retired from DuPont in Lugoff after 38 years of service. He also faithfully served the community of Wedgefield on the Volunteer Fire Department for over 40 years. He worked with the Sumter County Fair for over 32 years. He was a devout motorcycle rider and a member of The Christian Motorcycle Association. Survivors in addition to his wife of 55 years are three children: Davis R. "Shot" Goodman Jr. of Wedgefield, Patricia (Pat) Ann Huggins (Gene) of Sumter, and Margaret E. Hill (Dale) of Sumter; nine grandchildren: Carla, Davy, and Daniel Goodman; Crystal Prescott (Kevin); Melissa Mize; Dale Hill; Chad Gregg; Brittany and Taylor Hill; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the Wedgefield Baptist Church with the Rev. Jody Foster, the Rev. Paul Goff, and the Rev. Donnie Collins officiating. Music will be provided by Last Generation. Burial will follow in the Wedgefield Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Morse, Richard Gulledge, Mike Earnhardt, Brian Hyder, Dale Hill II, Bobby Batten, Bobby Hinks, and Kevin Prescott. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Wedgefield Fire Department and Wayne Jackson. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home and at other times at the home 2050 Highway 261, Wedgefield.
