REAMES Posted Sunday, December 28, 2014 6:00 am BISHOPVILLE - Gene Hawkins Reames, 87, widow of John Reames, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at Kershaw Health in Camden. Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Jesse T. Hawkins and the late Janie Strange Hawkins. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and retired as a nurse from the Lee County School system. Survivors include: three sons, Mark Reames, Gary Reames and Jay Reames; two grandchildren, Emily Reames and Kevin Reames; and a sister, Iris Dunne. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bethlehem United Methodist Church cemetery with the Rev. Larry Watson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, PO Box 167, Bishopville, SC 29010.
