ERNESTINE C. ATKINSON
Ernestine Carraway Atkinson, 65, died Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Regency Hospital in Florence.
Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Carraway Sr. and the late Eloise Irick Carraway.
Survivors include four children, Edgar Robert Atkinson Jr., of Georgia., Cheryl Lynn Atkinson of Sumter, Rhonda Jean Atkinson of Pennsylvania, and Tina A. Turner of Manning; nine grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Stringer and Nita Brown, both of Sumter.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Carraway Jr.
Graveside services were held Monday, May 4, 2009, at Sumter Cemetery.
Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter handled arrangements.
