Warren has been in Palmetto Health Tuomey for several weeks, and his wife has been in rehabilitation at Covenant Place, which means they have been unable to see each other. Scot Bozio, the manager of Telemetry, and his team found out about their anniversary and arranged for Peggy to be transported to the hospital on Thursday. "As far as coordination, Tuomey did most of that because Mr. Clark was in the hospital," Covenant Place Executive Director Melissa Linville said. "Our driver got Mrs. Clark to him." Team members donated balloons and a gift, and one team member donated some special flowers for the occasion. "She (the team member) actually pulled out some of her own flowers from her anniversary the day before and put them in a vase to make sure that Mrs. Peggy had some flowers on her anniversary as well," Palmetto Health Tuomey Interactive Media Coordinator Chris Moore said. "It went really well." Palmetto Health Tuomey was happy to help make this special event happen. "It's just an example of how our team members at Palmetto Health Tuomey go above and beyond for our patients and their families," Moore said. "They heard of a need and did everything they could to try to make that special moment happen." Especially one as significant as this. "You don't get but one 55th wedding anniversary," Moore said. Posted Tuesday, April 23, 2019 6:00 am Warren Burgess Clark Jr., age 75, beloved husband of 56 years to Peggy Pritchard Clark, died on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at the Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia. Born in Charleston, he was a son of the late Warren Burgess Clark Sr. and Fannie Davis Clark. Mr. Clark served in the U.S. Army for four years and retired from the Sumter Police Department after 19 years of dedicated service. He was an avid gunsmith and loved fishing. He enjoyed old movies, especially his Westerns and John Wayne. His true joy in life was spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Peggy, he is survived by two sons, Joseph Warren Clark of Omaha, Nebraska, and Philip Michael Clark and his wife, Kimberly, of Sumter; one daughter, Mary Kathryn Clark Gosselin and her husband, David, of Sumter; one sister, Jo Clark White of Sumter; four grandchildren, Mitchell Brennan, Cameron Bryant, Michael Clark and Ashlynn Clark; and one great-grandchild, Lincoln Bryant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Nell Cannon. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Walker and Cleveland Pinkney officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Sumter Police rendering full police honors. The Sumter County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday at Bullock Funeral Home.
