| HIST | of Pinewood, South Carolina 310 E. Clark St. Anne R. McRoy PINEWOOD -- Anne Ridgill McRoy, 78, widow of George M. McRoy Sr., died Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Paxville, she was a daughter of the late Luke and Daisy Corbett Ridgill. Mrs. McRoy was a member of Pinewood United Methodist Church, the Lizzie Griffin Circle, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She graduated from the Clevenger Business College in Sumter and worked at the Sumter Credit Bureau and then at Manchester School. Survivors include two sons, Marion McRoy (Patty) of Sumter and Calvin McRoy (Robin) of Lugoff; three grandchildren, Rhett McRoy, Ryan McRoy and Lindsay Anne McRoy; one sister, Margie R. Stack of Florence; and a number of special nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by one sister, Minnie Lee Harrington. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Pinewood United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randall Haase, the Rev. Claire Murdock and the Rev. Richard Broomall officiating. Burial will be in Pinewood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rhett McRoy, Jamie Corbett, Al Pridgen, Warren Partee, Homer Randolph and Richard "Dickie" Jones. The Lizzie Griffin Circle will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home in Pinewood. Memorials may be made to Pinewood United Methodist Church, 211 East Ave. N., Pinewood, SC 29125. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
