Died at the residence of his daughter Mrs. W. A.(husband,William Asbury) (Willie) Harbuck, on the 3rd day of March, J. (John) G. Gerald, aged 68 years. He had been in feeble health for more than three years. He was a gentleman of education and refinement and was a graduate of Columbia College in South Carolina. In early life he moved to Alabama (Opelika) and from thence to Georgia (Red Hill - Richland) where he has lived for many years. He was a man of considerable wealth before the war of
secession but with that of thousands of others it was all swept away. Grief over his cruel fate had partially deranged his mind. A good man has gone to rest.
