| HIST | Sharon Kay Bartlett DORCHESTER -- Sharon Kay Herlong Bartlett, 46, wife of Steven W. Bartlett, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, in a car accident. Born Dec. 15, 1964, in Myrtle Beach, she was a daughter of Sylvia Herlong and the late retired Master Sgt. Hoyt Herlong. She was a graduate of Socastee High School. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a brother, Hoyt Herlong; a nephew, Kyle Herlong; and a niece, Laura Jane Herlong, all of Florida. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607. Posted in Obituaries on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 Manning woman dies in Dorchester wreck BY STAFF REPORTS DORCHESTER - A 46-year-old Manning woman died Saturday from trauma and internal injuries caused by an early morning wreck, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Sharon Kay Herlon Bartlett, wife of Steven W. Bartlett, was driving her 2005 Toyota four-door vehicle north about 10 p.m. Friday on Misty Glen Road, five miles north of St. George, when she apparently "disregarded a stop sign, crossed over Sparrow Road, ran off Misty Glen and struck a tree," according to Sgt. Bryan McDougald of the Highway Patrol. Bartlett was taken by EMS to Colleton Medical Center and airlifted to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston where she died about 4 a.m. Brunson Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Manning is handling arrangements.
