Posted Tuesday, December 29, 2020 6:00 am MANNING - Marion Leroy "Brother" Eadon Jr., 81, died on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 28, 1939, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Marion Leroy Eadon Sr. and Marian Williams Eadon. He was a member of Manning United Methodist Church. He was an entrepreneur that got his start in the cucumber business and later finished with Eadon Solutions labor business. Brother was quite the character and was known for his quick wit, wonderful sense of humor and generous heart. He was a loving father, grandfather and was affectionately known as "PopPop" to his grandchildren. He is survived by three daughters, Debbie Eadon Blair (Jay) of Columbia, Kitty Eadon Stephens (Shayne) of Manning and Kelly Eadon Lowery (Danny) of Gable; six grandchildren, Marion Shaw Stephens, James Howard "Jim" Blair IV, Phillip Shayne Stephens Jr., Grayson Bennett Stephens, Daniel Lee Lowery and Ava Cantey Lowery; a sister, Roseanne Eadon Jackson of Manning; the mothers of his children, Jennie Alderman Eadon of Columbia and Phyllis Cantey Eadon of Manning; a nephew, Scott Harmon Jackson Jr. (Ann) of Manning; four nieces, Angie Johnson Mahoney (Mike) of Litchfield, Meri Jackson Hall (Danny) and Rosy Jackson Matthews, both of Manning, and Marian Eadon "Eadie" Broggi (Michael) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and several greatnieces and greatnephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sallie Lynn Eadon; two sons, Marion Leroy "Lee" Eadon III and Joseph Alderman "Joey" Eadon; and a sister, Nina Eadon Hale. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Manning Cemetery with the Rev. Patrick G. Goodwin and the Rev. Dr. Spencer Jordan officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service and other times at the home of Kitty and Shayne Stephens, 4133 Bloomville Road, Manning.
