BEASLEY Funeral services for Carolyn Dority Beasley, age 80, widow of Elton Beasley Jr., who passed away Feb. 17, 2010, will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Arlin Kirkland and the Rev. Lawrence Melton officiating. Burial will be in the Piedmont Cemetery, directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Beasley was born in Bishopville, a daughter of the late William Barney and Eva Hancock Dority. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and a wonderful cook. Surviving are daughters, Patricia (John) Latimer of Bishopville and Linda (Walter) Polandi of Columbia; sons, Jimmy (Ann) Beasley of Bishopville, Kenneth (Tina) Beasley of Bishopville and Jerry (Flora) Beasley of Surfside Beach; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Dority of Sumter; and an adopted brother, Kermit Hancock of California.
