  HIST	DAVID W. SHEPARD HARTSVILLE - Funeral services for David W. Shepard, 74, will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Lakeview Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Tim McKnight and the Rev. Brian Winburn will officiate with burial in Westview Memorial Park Cemetery. Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home is serving the family. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. Mr. Shepard died Monday, Sept. 20, 2010. Born in Lamar, he was a son of the late David Willie and Rosa Amerson Shepard. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and was retired from Sonoco Products Co. He loved to hunt and work with his dogs. He also enjoyed fishing, football and racing. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, John D. (Nancy M.) Shepard of Hartsville; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie (Robert) Winburn of Hartsville and Renee (John) Smitt of Hartsville; brother and sister-in-law, Francis (Opal) Shepard of Wilmington, N.C.; sister, Betty Sue Atkinson of Elliott; and grandchildren, Roger Winburn, the Rev. Brian Winburn, Melissa Catoe, Cameron Shepard, Jason Shepard, Jessica Shepard, Tiffany Smitt and Christopher Smitt.
