| HIST | Baird - Meldrim Posted Saturday, April 24, 2004 8:00 pm Malisa Lynn Baird and Christopher Michael Meldrim were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2004, at Grace Baptist Church in Sumter. The bride is the daughter of Michael E. Baird Sr. and Joy Whitaker, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edsel V. Whitaker and Carolyn Baird and the late Thomas A. Baird, all of Sumter. She graduated from Sumter High School. She is employed as a medical receptionist by Carolina Diabetes and Kidney Center. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael L. Meldrim of Dalzell, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Meldrim and Freda Barnes and the late Howard Barnes, all of St. Johnsville, N.Y. He graduated from Sumter Christian. He is employed as an account manager by Thompson Industrial Services. Dr. James R. Chandler officiated at the ceremony. Music was provided by Mrs. Cheryl Ray, organist. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an off-white, strapless, A-line beaded gown featuring champagne trim and an empire waist. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of pink lilies. Kendall McKnight served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kayla Baird, Kimberly Meldrim, Brandlyn Whitaker and Megan Strickland. Chazen Regalado served as flower girl. The bridegroom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were John Baker, Jared Holland, Jason Eudy and Kenny Rainwater. Tanner Richburg served as ring bearer. Also participating was Michael E. Baird Jr. The bride's parents held the reception at the Pocalla Springs Resort. The bridegroom's parents held the rehearsal party at Red Bone Alley. Following a wedding trip to the Virgin Islands, the couple will reside in Dalzell. [1] | |
