The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Elizabeth Francis Dent and the late Harry Shuler Dent of Columbia, and Mrs. Janie Montgomery Catalano and the late Henry Jaudon Montgomery of Kingstree. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor of arts degree in political science and is completing an international master of business administration at the Darla Moore School of Business.
