| HIST | Margaret Baughman LEXINGTON -- Margaret Louise May Baughman, 90, wife of Leon M. Baughman Sr., died Monday, July 18, 2011, at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia. Born in Cope, she was a daughter of the late Francis Henry and Lillie May Brickle May. Mrs. Baughman was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Sumter and was also a member of the Fellowship Sunday School class. She was a retired kindergarten teacher. She worked as emergency purchasing agent at the Charleston Naval Base during World War II. Surviving are her husband, Leon M. Baughman Sr. of Lexington; one son, Leon Melvin "Mel" Baughman of Lexington; four grandchildren, Melissa Risher, Rowland Bagnal, Margaret Marie Sedlar and Amber Victoria Baughman; five great-grandchildren, Dillon Bagnal, Sophia Sedlar, Amelia Noel Sedlar, Jack Sedlar and Hayden Ashley Risher. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly B. Bagnal; and a sister, Lillian Wilder. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Phil Jones officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 226 W. Liberty St., Sumter, SC 29150.
