Turner Flora Lillie Mae Mitchum Turner, 81, wife of Willie Turner Jr., died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Bogen Mitchum and Ruth Britt. Mrs. Turner loved and nurtured many children. She often volunteered to babysit for children of family members and friends. Survivors include her husband of Sumter; a son, Willie M. Kolb of Sumter; three grandchildren, Torrey M. Kolb, Jason B. Kolb and Wyatt N. Kolb; and a great-grandson, Blaine M. Kolb. She was preceded in death by a son, Claude Kolb. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Graham Bochman officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Sumter Valley Health and Rehab Center for their care and support.
