Born in Aliquippa, Pa., he was a son of the late Shaun and Margaret Burns Kearney. Mr. Kearney was an active member of Woodstock Church of the Nazarene. Brian was a founding partner of Phoenix Distribution & Marketing in January of 2004. Brian's passion, work ethic, and desire to build a company from the ground up enabled a disjointed concept to become the successful firm. His insight, wit, and self-effacing personality set the corporate philosophy. His constant reminder that business remains a secondary player to personal and community relationships has been echoed in the heartfelt pouring of expression from the community at large. Survivors include two sisters, Sheila Kearney of Bridgeville, Pa., and Rosaleen Wiker (Carl) of Wexford, Pa.; two brothers, Kevin Kearney of Pittsburgh and Sean Kearney (Connie) of Beaver Falls, Pa.; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Desmond S. Kearney; and a sister, Maureen Kearney Bowser. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Sumter at Sumter First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Dr. James Thrower and the Rev. Greg Pressley officiating. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Woodstock, Ga., at Woodstock Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Greg Brown officiating. Private burial will be held in Sumter Cemetery.
