STUCKEY BISHOPVILLE -- Charlotte Ryan Stuckey, 92, widow of William Hamer Stuckey, entered eternal glory with her Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, on Oct. 7, 2009, in Irmo, at the Ascension Hospice House. Church services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Bishopville with the Rev. Paul Rogers and the Rev. Randal Shell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Born Aug. 17, 1917, in Trenton, she was a daughter of the late Elbert Lacon Ryan and Helen Salter Ryan. Mrs. Stuckey was educated in Trenton and graduated from Coker College Class of 1938. She taught in South Carolina public schools for 38 years. She joined Bethlehem United Methodist Church in January 1950, shortly after her marriage. Mrs. Stuckey served her church faithfully in many areas for 59 years, serving two terms as president of the United Methodist Women and teaching the Constance Herbert Class. She was also a member of the Bishopville Book Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Historical Society. She was a former member of the Iris Garden Club. She is survived by two sons, William Hamer Stuckey (Susan) and Brooks Ryan Stuckey (Emily); four grandchildren whom she adored, Ryan, Marianne, Joanna and Marshall; a sister, Grace Ryan Reynolds (Graham) of Trenton; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be anytime at the home, 143 Edmund Ave., Bishopville, SC 29010. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church or to the Care Center, P.O. Box 167, Bishopville, SC 29010. A very special thanks to her devoted caregiver, Lucille March, whom she loved; and also to the staff of Ascension Hospice in Florence and Irmo.
