- 1 Mar. 1702/3 Thomas Merris (Merry) made a deed of gift to his daughter Elizabeth Montague, "the relict of Peter Montague," with reversion to her sons Thomas and Peter (Middlesex Co. Deed Bk. 2, p. 506).
[Thus, Peter Montague was then deceased. He was an ancestor of Wallis Warfield Simpson, later Duchess of Windsor. He is believed to have been a grandson of Peter Montague (1603-1659), the immigrant, who was son of George Montague of Boveny, Burnham Parish, Buckinghamshire, which
adjoins Dorney. As will be demonstrated at a future time, William Bressie, the Quaker, of Isle of Wight Co., VA, had a father-in-law who was a minister at Dorney.
