| HIST | Daphne (Woodham) Arthur | Visit Guest Book HARTSVILLE - Daphne Woodham Arthur died Friday, January 20, 2012, in Methodist Manor in Florence, SC. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church, Hartsville, with visitation to follow at the church. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, and Brown-Pennington-Atkins is serving the family. Born in Hartsville, Mrs. Arthur was a daughter of the late Middleton Josey Woodham and Margaret Green Woodham. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Edith Woodham Howle and Evelyn Woodham Key. She is survived by her sister, Ola Lee Woodham Robinson of North, SC, and brother, Milton Josey Woodham of Hartsville. She was married to the late Mr. Warren DuPre "Bubber" Arthur III. Mrs. Arthur is also survived by her four children, Warren DuPre Arthur IV (Barbara) of Hartsville, Betty Arthur Hardaway (Dan) of Florence, Stephen Michael Arthur (Vicki) of Hartsville, and Jean Arthur Hungerpiller (Kent) of Myrtle Beach. She was a wonderful grandmother to 16 grandchildren, Daphne DuPre Arthur, Allison Arthur Upesleja, Jacqueline Arthur Albertson, Tattin Arthur Lyon, Warren DuPre Arthur V, Chloe Elizabeth Arthur, Benjamin Friday Arthur, Jean Elizabeth Hardaway, William Daniel Hardaway III, Frances Arthur Hardaway, Nancy Brock Arthur, Stephen Michael Arthur, Junior, Margaret Brittain Hungerpiller, John Kenton Hungerpiller III, Emily McNair Hungerpiller and David DuPre Hungerpiller. She was great-grandmother to Clayton Ransom Albertson and Vivienne Reeves Albertson. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hartsville, where she participated in Sunday school, Women of the Church Circle, and Bible School. She loved her hometown of Hartsville and had many wonderful lifelong friends. She attended Lander College, and prior to her marriage, she worked for CP&L in downtown Hartsville. After marriage and raising children, she pursued her many creative interests. She loved collecting antiques, and in the 1970s, she and a friend owned and operated Mothball Antiques. She loved going to the beach in the summer with her family and grandchildren.
