| HIST | ANN W. WHITE Posted Sunday, June 18, 2017 6:00 am Ann Watts White, 68, wife of Harrison James White Jr., died Saturday, June 17, 2017, at MUSC in Charleston. Born in the Ashwood Community of Lee County, she was a daughter of the late William Rufus Watts and the late Beulah Marie Watts. She was a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church and retired from Farmers Telephone Cooperative after 30 years of service. Survivors include her husband of 49 years; a son, H. James "Jim" White III (Elizabeth) of Sumter; a granddaughter, Christina Ann White; a brother, Steve Watts (Carol) of Ashwood; two sisters, Hazel Rhiner (Gene) and Ruth Dukes, both of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Clay Smith officiating. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home of her son, 18 Frederick Court. Memorials may be made to the Palmetto Health Tuomey-Jeanne C. Watson Oncology Unit, 130 N. Washington St., Sumter. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements. [3] | |
