  Mary Amanda Linam was born on November 8, 1836. In 1857, she married W. M. Neal of Richland District. The marriage settlement recorded in the Sumter County Courthouse on February 1, 1858, was signed by W. M. Neal. M A. Linam and J. B. Tindall as trustees. Witnesses were E. W. Linam and S. P. Wells. Mary Amanda must have died prior to 1870 for the 1870 census indicates that her children were living with their grandmother Mary Linam Tindal. Family records indicate that Amanda was buried in Wells cemetery; however, the grave is unmarked. Notes from: John Tindal
