Born on April 3, 1957, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Charles and Bessie Brown McLeod. He was the owner of McLeod Painting Co. Stanley was a devoted husband and father. Survivors include his wife; children, Brandi M. Sloan (Steve), Stanley "Bubba" McLeod Jr. (Pam), Daniel McLeod, Stanley "Rooster" McLeod III (raised by Stanley and Cheryl); a special son, Jason Capell (Tiffany); grandchildren, Alexis, Mia, D.J., Kaitlyn, Jadin and Jack McLeod; brothers, Bobby McLeod of Sumter, Skip McLeod (Marianne) of Michigan and Mike McLeod of Sumter; sisters, Jenny Campbell (Dwight), Betty Brown (Mark), Barbara McLeod and Alice Pritchard, all of Sumter; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Laverne McLeod, and a sister, Ann Barlow. A memorial gathering will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the ALPHA 1 Foundation, 3300 Ponce de Leon Blvd., Coral Gables, FL 33134.
