PHIL McELVEEN
MARIETTA, GA-- Mr. Phil McElveen, age 75, of Marietta, Ga. passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2009.
Mr. McElveen was retired from Lockheed. He enjoyed woodcarving and was an avid traveler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rounette.
Mr. McElveen is survived by his son, Charles McElveen of Douglasville, Ga.; his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Tina McElveen also of Douglasville, Ga; grandchildren Heather, Jessica, and Bethany McElveen; brothers and sisters-in-law Gobe and Pat McElveen, James and Martha McElveen, and Emery and Nancy McElveen, all of Sumter; Russell and Mildred McElveen of Burlington, N.C.; and Robert and Vivian McElveen of Miami.
A funeral service will be held Friday, July 3, at 11:00 am at Powers Ferry United Methodist Church with Rev. Jane Nugent officiating. Burial will follow at Cheatham Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the AFLAC Cancer Center at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
