DWIGHT Julie Martin Dwight, 69, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Thomas Martin and Virginia Warren Martin. Mrs. Dwight was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter and was the former director of the Sumter Choral Choir, former choir director at Trinity United Methodist Church, former choir director at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter and was formerly employed at the Shepard's Center. She was currently the choir director at Mayesville Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Woman's Afternoon Music Club. Surviving are a son, Robert David Mitchell of Sumter; a brother, Pat Martin of Sumter; and a sister, Sidney Harley of Florence. She was predeceased by a brother, Tommy Martin. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter with the Rev. Dr. M. Barr and the Rev. Brian Peake officiating. Burial will follow in the Sumter Cemetery.
