| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina CYNTHIA BROOME Posted Tuesday, June 14, 2022 6:00 am Cynthia Gardenhire Broome, 65, died Sunday, June 12, 2022, at her home surrounded by family and friends. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late William Sutton Gardenhire and Dorothy Louise Galloway Gardenhire. Mrs. Broome was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church and was retired as a client associate at Merrill Lynch. Cindy will be loved and missed by her family, and we know where she is. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and her grandchildren were the apple of her eye. In her spare time, she enjoyed monogramming, and she was an avid Clemson supporter. Surviving are her son, Ryan S. Broome (Jenny); her brother, John E. Gardenhire (Victoria); grandchildren, Riley Broome, Haley Broome and Cody Broome; and her nephew, John "L.J." Gardenhire Jr. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wes Conner officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 27 Broad St., Sumter, SC 29150.
